The Way of the Lord
Through the Triodion and Pentecostarion
Not only fasting, but Christian asceticism in general, voluntary shame in confession, and self-reproach, yet also the positive asceticism of the desire for the gift of Pentecost, place us on the path of Christ and wound the beast of our ego. By imparting a taste of death, they are transformed into the seed of resurrection and, in fact, they prepare our bodies for the Common Resurrection.
Seek, and Ye Shall Find
Thoughts have a taste. Each thought is accompanied by an energy according to its origin. If the thought comes from God, it brings peace and joy and promotes prayer. If it comes from the enemy, it brings confusion and does not harmonise with prayer. Sometimes thoughts which come from God may be completely contrary to our psychological state. Yet they bring life and energy of the Spirit, and our prayer receives wings.
Ask, and It Shall Be Given You
‘The seed is the word of God.’ However, this seed is not of this world and therefore, when it falls in the good earth of the deep heart, it becomes ‘the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth’. ‘It is sown in weakness,’ but ‘it is raised in power and incorruption.’ The texts of this book are the fruit of these Sunday meetings and are presented in the form of questions and answers: ‘Ask (with desire) and it shall be given you (of the abundance of the love of him that speaketh).’

The Mother of the Lord and Mother of Our Life
A correct understanding of the virginity of the Mother of God before, during and after giving birth, grants us insight into the mystery of holiness. Her virginity before giving birth is apparent and witnessed to by Holy Scripture. Her virginity during birth is understood through our knowledge of God: whatever God touches He never wounds but only heals, perfects and sanctifies. A birth bringing forth God could only have procured a miracle in which ‘the order of nature is overcome,’ in which the supernatural divine order prevailed. Finally, her remaining virgin after giving birth was a consequence of the supernatural events that preceded. Virginity for the rest of her life was a categorical imperative of her spirit in order to preserve the unique grace she had been given.
