Choose how it is delivered
Pick one of the two options above:
- Email to recipient: we email the gift card to the person you choose. It goes today, or untick Send today to choose the date and time it should be delivered.
- Let me print: you print the card yourself and give it in person. You can print it right after you place the order. You’ll see a “Print gift card” link on the thank-you page, and you’ll also receive a separate email.
What the recipient receives
If you chose email, the recipient gets an email titled “You have received a Gift card!” on the day you chose. It shows the card design, amount, gift card code and your message, with the card attached as a PDF.
Spending the card online
At the checkout, choose “Have a discount code?” and enter the code. Any amount you don’t spend stays on the card for your next order. Or sign in and redeem it under My Account → Bookshop credit to add it to the account balance. If you add it to your account as bookshop credit, at the checkout you’ll have the option to use that credit by clicking a checkbox. Any left over credit remains in your account to use on your next order.
Good to know
- Currency: The card is bought in the currency of your order, and the printed card will show that currency. When a customer wishes to redeem it in their account as bookshop credit or spend right away, they can do so in any currency we offer. The credit amount will be converted to their currency at the currency exchange rate.
- Can be spent online or at the Monastery: The card can also be brought and spent in our bookshop at the Monastery.
- No expiry date: Our gift cards do not expire.
