A daily gift of beauty
The calendar – beautifully gift-wrapped, along with the books – is a daily gift of beauty: lovely photos, notes of all the major feasts and moving quotations (which incidentally help a New Testament Greek scholar read modern Greek!) all constitute a call to prayer as we enter and leave our house. September and November, in particular, strike me powerfully: ‘Christ became double for the sake of man, assuming his nature. Likewise, when man exchanges his life for the life of God he also becomes double in nature;’ and ’The word of Sacred Scripture has infinite depth and encompasses “life eternal,” yet it remains “sealed with seven seals” for those who approach it solely by the power of the mind.’

I highly recommend this calendar! It’s absolutely beautiful, the Icons are just amazing and the price is fantastic. The fact that it features both Greek and English makes it truly special and each month is having some great words of wisdom. Seriously, if you buy it wasand don’t love it, I’ll personally refund you the money! (Nobody encouraged me to post the review and I have no gain for it. I always get a couple of Orthodox Calendars from different sources. But this one is my favorite. I hope one day to visit the monastery. Meanwhile, I have these beautiful pictures to view! And I also appreciate the details regarding the feast days and the notes area at the bottom of the page. I’m learning Greek and enjoy the words written on the calendar picture pages in both Greek and English.

Very beautiful calendar, like the images of Saint Sophrony’s church. Have read the book “The House of Our Father” a few months ago, which I highly recommend for the explanations on how the new church came into being. It’s very nice to look at the calendar and remember the Monastery with love every time I glance at it. Thank you :).

A very beautiful calendar. The packpage for each month is a very great-looking icon or image. I would prefer to have more utility from the calendar (by listing saints for each day instead of blank space in most days, or perhaps using the back page for a list of names and matching dates). I love the Saint Sophrony icon that comes with it.

I’m interested in the calendar but from the preview of months January and July, it seems many days have no saints or commemoration at all. A Church Kalendar should list the saints for each day…
