We are deeply honoured to announce the eagerly anticipated release of the second audiobook featuring Archimandrite Zacharias’ seminal commentary on Saint Sophrony’s salvific and didactic theory of the three stages of spiritual life: ‘Remember thy First Love’.
This inspired book borne from obedience to our fathers in God draws from the third series of talks initiated by Bishop Basil and delivered in Wichita, Kansas, at the 2008 Clergy Brotherhood Retreat of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. Each chapter preserves these unabridged teachings in their original power, accompanied by enriching dialogues through questions and answers with the attending clergy. Additional chapters from talks given to monastic communities have been thoughtfully woven throughout to deepen and illuminate the foundational text.
This highly original, yet thoroughly patristic and authentic theory of the three stages belongs to the golden thread of sacred tradition passed down by our holy father Sophrony, and elucidated by one of his closest disciples, Archimandrite Zacharias, for the edification of the Body of the Church. Furthermore, it illuminates the way of the Lord like the North Star, in this current age of despondency and despair, allowing the faithful to navigate, discern, and follow the route trodden by Moses through the Red Sea, the wilderness, and into the long-awaited promised Land in their own flesh.
