Echoes of the Spirit

$27.00

Eternal life,’ as the Lord Himself declares, is the knowledge of the true God (John 17:3). Yet His life is infinite, and we, in our weakness, whenever He reveals Himself to us, can only grasp the smallest aspect of it. This is why divine Providence has established feasts throughout the year as places where we meet the Lord, as windows that reveal to us the ‘great and wondrous’ things of our God and lead us into His Presence.
The feasts were given to us to remember the blessings we have received from God, to thank Him, and entreat Him to succour us on the path of the Cross that leads to salvation. They were given to us to combat the devastation of oblivion and the abomination of ingratitude. The feasts of the Church are not a theatrical re-enactment but a prayerful commemoration. Preparation for each feast with humble thanksgiving and repentance brings grace, which makes us contemporaries of eternal events in the Holy Spirit.

Christ Himself said that man lives by the word of God. We are easily distracted by this world. It is the word of God that refreshes our spirit to run the race with endurance. Echoes Of The Spirit has been thoughtfully compiled to; remind us, inspire us, sustain us, and console us with the depth of God’s edifying words.

A beautiful overture of the panoramic gift and timeless grace God bestows upon the hearts of all who seek to know Him in this life. Thank you Fr. Zacharias and all who are with you!

A very good reading for the Nativity lent and a great addition to Fr Zacharia’s collection of lenten and festal homilies: “Alive from the Dead”, “Thirst for Life Eternal”, “At the Doors of Holy Lent” etc. This book is a wonderful walk through the way of the Lord in humility and prayerful silence from the Annunciation to the sending of the Holy Ghost the comforter. Thank you!

“Without the Holy Nativity, all the days of our life would drawn in the ‘waters of lethe’, in oblivion, and in the abyss of the infernal night. Yet Christ came and was born like ‚a star rising out of Jacob’ so as to lead us into the path of our own regeneration.” (page 60)
“Throughout Holy Scripture, both in the Old and New Testament, great and revelatory events were preceded by prayerful silence.” (page 131)
“In this world, the way of Christ is a sign, but a sign ‘that is spoken against’. In every event of His early life, the sign of His ineffable humility and His blameless love is revelead and prevails, but in a different form. At the beginning of His earthly sojourn, the sign of the poor and lowly manger was given to mankind; at the end, the sign of His Cross; and at the sending of His Holy Spirit, the sign of fiery tongues.” (page 226)
