About the author

Saint Sophrony, started his monastic life on Mount Athos. His acquaintance with Saint Silouan became the landmark of his life. The providence of God granted him to live all the forms of life in the church; cenobitic monk at St Panteleimon’s Monastery, hermit in the caves of Karoulia, parish priest whilst in Paris, founder of a Monastery, abbot and recluse towards the end of his life. His writings are classics of contemporary Christian literature.
